1 Definition

A Non-Compliant Barcode chargeback means that you either did not include a barcode on the products you shipped or the barcode that you provided could not be scanned. [1][2]

All merchandise sent to Amazon must include a product identification number (UPC, ASIN, EAN, ISBN, etc.) that is barcoded and printed numerically on the exterior so it can be identified and scanned. [1][2]

✕ What triggers it

You are considered non-compliant if:

  • The barcode is missing [1][2]
  • The barcode cannot be scanned — torn, smudged, an incorrect height or format, against a blurry or shiny background, or otherwise damaged [1][2]
  • The barcode product identification number is not linked to the ASIN in your catalog [1]
✓ How to prevent it
  • Ensure the product identification number from the barcode is updated in your catalog [1]
  • Print the identifier numerically on the exterior alongside the barcode [1][2]
  • Avoid torn, smudged, or damaged labels, and blurry or shiny backgrounds [1][2]
  • Follow the barcode height and format standards in the North American Vendor Shipment Guidelines [1]
Designer note (internal)
Internal note — not shown in product第三张触发卡(identifier 未关联 ASIN)与费率条都是 region-split slot —— <g data-region="NA"> / <g data-region="EU"> 同插槽兄弟组(见 05-mockups/diagrams/CONVENTIONS.md);EU tab 换成中性卡"页面只列了上面两条触发",并只出本区费率。
费率对照(仅内部):NA = 商品成本的 3%;EU = 每件 £0.25。
Internal note — not shown in productG

3 Chargeback fee

3% of the cost of the product [1]

Internal note — not shown in product旧稿写"3%,NA 与 EU 相同"——经核 UK G201741550 页费率为 £0.25 per item,与 NA 的 3% 不同,已改为分区表。UK 页触发清单也未列"未关联 ASIN"一条,已标 NA。 2026-09-08 实测:DE 与 FR 同 node 为 EUR 0.30 per item,IT 返回 HTTP 404(无该类型页)。
◻ Official exemptions — not displayed: Amazon publishes no exemption for this type
Internal note — not shown in productAVC 未公布豁免。CS PDF 的 "barcode damaged in transit by the carrier" 不是政策豁免;但 AVC 的 dispute 要求本身即为"证明离厂时可扫",因此该主张可作为申诉论点放入 7 的 ⓘ Not published by Amazon

5 Documents required for dispute

  1. Images of the label and the ASIN barcode showing the product was sent with a valid barcode and that it could be correctly scanned when it left your facility [1][2]
  2. If the barcode was damaged in transit — carrier documentation plus pre-shipment photos ⓘ Not published by Amazon
